What is barefoot walking? Now this is easy to answer- basically it is what it says, walking without shoes and socks on. NAKED FEET! Vitamin G—G for Grounding: Some people refer to barefoot walking as a way to ground or earth. This needs to be on a natural surface though like soil, grass or sand. The science bit- Your body absorbs negative electrons from the Earth through the soles of your feet. The Earth is negatively charged, so when you ground, you're connecting your body to a negatively charged supply of energy. And since the Earth has a greater negative charge than your body, you end up absorbing electrons from it. What are the benefits of barefoot walking?
What is the best way to get started? It is never too late to explore the benefits of walking barefoot. It doesn’t require much skill either – just slip off your shoes and place your naked feet on the ground for a few minutes. It is easy to look for naturally softer grounds like grass and sand when you start out on your barefoot journey. Once your muscles and joints in your feet and ankles strengthen a bit, you can then switch to a wider variety of surfaces. The idea is to maintain the contact between your bare feet and the surface of the earth. For this, you can even consider wading, walking, or swimming in mineral-rich ocean water or mountain rivers, because it provides prolonged skin contact. The minerals in the water can be absorbed into your skin providing you with extra health benefits too. You don’t even have to walk anywhere you could just spend 5 minutes a day barefoot in your garden. My Top 10 Tips

Lovely blog Liz - and happy to read that you are still enjoying the benefits of spending time barefoot. As you say, just a little time spent connecting with the earth every day will yield the most amazing results - you don't have to run barefoot across a country! Barefoot forward .... x

Hey Lizzie , great stuff ! We should be barefoot or 'moccasined' at this time of year as the earth is pregnant and birthing !! How about combining bare footing with some reflexology ? Had a treatment from a friend of mine who is starting out - so powerful and energising , I think the combination would be awesome ..? Could even add some liver stimulating herbs like fresh dandelion leaves , hairy bittercress and nettles and truly ride the spring tides !!!
